PURPOSE:
To provide assistance with issues that have devastating effects on a military
family’s emotional and financial well-being.
SCOPE:
Applies to all Operation Homefront Chapters
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Approval is at the discretion of the Chapter President up to $1000 based on knowledge,
experience and client necessity. Operation Homefront makes payments directly
to the creditor. Except in very rare circumstances are families to be given any
monetary donation directly payable to them.
All Operation Homefront programs are available to injured service members and
their families.
Types of financial assistance we are able to provide include:
- Rent (Civilian housing only)
- Utility bills
- Airfare to transport a family member to assist an injured service
member
- Home retrofitting to accommodate an injury when not covered by a
military benefit
- Childcare costs during surgery or intensive medical treatments.
- Phone bills due to urgent overseas calls
- Car payments when it is the family’s only means of transportation
- Car insurance and registration payments
