Current Needs

Our chapter's Wounded Warrior Wives program could use your support. The purpose of Wounded Warrior Wives is to support military and veterans’ families by caring for the caregivers of our wounded, ill and injured warriors. We do this by providing a variety of resources and forums which encourage self-care, skill-building, resource-sharing and social connections with other caregivers. Your donations will help support this program so that we can continue to provide care to the caregivers.

Due to the extenuating circumstances of this military family, our granting committee has approved assistance. We are currently seeking support to provide aid to this family.

As deployments to the war zones continue and prices continue to rise, thousands of service members and their families in Washington are in need of immediate assistance. We have seen a dramatic surge in the requests for assistance. For many of those military families, a sudden car problem, roof leak or unreliable heater can cause financial hardship. In addition, our wounded warriors are struggling with disability claims processing, income changes, coping with their injuries and often a transition back into civilian life. That's why Operation Homefront of Washington needs: • Grocery gift cards • Gas cards • Monetary donations • Wal-Mart, Target, Fred Meyer or MasterCard gift cards.

Operation Homefront of Washington is requesting assistance to collect items for military families expecting a new addition in 2012. Operation Homefront of Washington will be hosting baby showers for expecting mothers with connections to the military. At this time, we are in need of: gift cards for food and baby items, new and gently used baby items, and financial donations.
