Operation Homefront and Volunteers Rebuilding Wounded Soldier's Home
Operation Homefront of the Virginias and a group of volunteers have joined together to make life a little easier for Staff Sergeant Whitney Spurgeon. Wounded in combat when his unit was ambushed, Spurgeon has undergone numerous surgeries, and struggles with intense pain and TBI. Operation Homefront stepped in, along with a great group of volunteers, to remodel his home so it's easier for him to get around and have a more comfortable life.
"They are there when nobody else is,' said Kristy, Spurgeon's wife. In the beginning, while they were struggling, she thought no one cared. "What's going on with our wounded warriors is atrocious," said Spurgeon's wife. But according to the Spurgeons, Operation Homefront has been right there in the trenches.
