Mobile Food Pantry Rolls into Norfolk
Thanks to the generosity of Food Lion and their recent donation of $20,000 of My Essentials Food Products, Operation Homefront Hampton Roads, Food Lion and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia served over 300 junior enlisted military families (E1 to E6) with free Groceries.
When Food Lion rolled out their new store brand, My Essentials, earlier this year, Operation Homefront was blessed with a donation of foods to make available to our local military families. "Hunger never takes a holiday" said Berg. As the cars lined the streets in the Norwalk Crossing Housing area in Norfolk, over 50 volunteers from the local military bases and corporate partners assisted in sharing bags of free food with these families.
Many thanks to our military for their service and thanks to our corporate partners in helping us recognize their service by easing their burden a little bit at home.
