Rachel Campbell Runs to Support Operation Homefront
HANOVER TWP. - Rachel Campbell, 16, a junior at Whippany Park High School is host to a 5K race, “Hanover’s Run for Heroes” at 8 a.m. and a one-mile run at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at Malapardis Park in Cedar Knolls.
Campbell is organizing the race for her Girl Scout Gold Award Project to benefit Operation Homefront, an organization that helps soldiers once they return home.
Campbell, a member of Troop 1039 in Hanover Township, has been involved in Girl Scouts since she was in kindergarten.
“I am working on my Girl Scout Gold Award and am organizing a 5k and a one-mile walk,” she said. “I chose to organize a 5k because I enjoy running and think a 5k is a great community event.
