Jobs for Our Veterans - Airgas commits to hiring 100 veterans
For veterans, coming home from war can be bitter-sweet. They proudly
accept the obligation to fight for the freedom and safety of their
family and country. Then, come home only to find that they cannot
protect their family from financial hardship. For some reason or
reasons, veterans are having trouble securing civilian positions. The
unemployment rate for veterans is 3% higher than the overall
unemployment rate of the nation.
Being a military spouse
and experiencing the military lifestyle, I know firsthand the qualities
and skills that our veterans have to bring to the table. These men and
women are some of the hardest working, most loyal and committed
Americans in the United States. What employer wouldn’t want them? They
are more than qualified to fill many jobs the country has to offer. I
would definitely have to agree with the statement, “Our veterans are
some of the most highly-trained, highly-educated, highly-skilled workers
that we’ve got. These are Americans that every business should be
competing to attract.”
I believe that we as a nation owe it to our veterans to stand behind them in their time of need.

One of our sponsors, Airgas,
was more than willing to step up and produce a plan of action to get
our veterans back to work. We are happy to announce our partnership with
Airgas, as as they commit to hiring veterans throughout Texas. You can find and apply for a position via their Careers website.
Adam Silva, a Sergeant in the Marine Corps shared, "After nearly 10 years in the U.S. Military, a Sergeant in the Marine Corps as a Naval Aviator, I was not looking for a job. I was looking to join another team...For me, Airgas was a perfect match."
Most appreciative of Airgas and their efforts to support our Military families and all they have given, willingly.
