Where are they now? We visit with former OH Villages resident Ryan Rodriguez

We recently followed up with a former SoCal village resident Marine Cpl. Ryan Rodriguez and his wife Rosa. Earlier this summer, the Rodriguez family moved into their new home that they received through Operation Homefront's program Homes on the Homefront.

Relocating from the cool ocean breeze of southern California to the dry heat of Kingwood, Texas has been an adjustment for the two but they are loving their new home and thankful for their time at the SoCal Village. “We still keep in touch with some of the family’s we met at the SoCal village thru email. I miss hanging with the guys. We would go fishing, golfing and just try new things.“

When Ryan first moved into the village, he was $90,000 in debt due to his previous marriage. He had to file for bankruptcy just to get his finances stable and his head above water. “I felt like my life had crumpled right before me.” Still battling his injuries from his deployment in Iraq, Ryan was determined to get his life back on track and build a strong future for his family. “I was able to pay off $9,000 while we lived at the SoCal village. Operation Homefront saved our lives and gave us a second chance. Meeting with the financial planner really showed me where my money was going and how to save more and spend less.” We wish nothing but the best for Ryan and his family as they embark on their new life together in their new home.
