Operation Homefront Grants a Warriors Wish

Operation Homefront Grants a Warriors Wish

A warrior's wish was granted recently when he married his beautiful bride on Marriage Island in San Antonio, TX. Operation Homefront provided the wedding as a gift and then surprised them with a home to call their own as well!

In June of 2008, then Marine Sgt. Keith Buckmon, his commander and several other Marines were attacked by a suicide bomber. Keith was one of two people to survive the attack and suffered traumatic injuries to his legs, arm and brain. It took six months before he could take his first step with the aide of therapists from Walter Reed Army Medical Center.During Keith’s recuperation, he found Operation Homefront Village-DC where he was able to enjoy free, fully furnished, spacious home in a community of other wounded warriors.  Keith’s fiancée Damaris and two younger daughters had to adjust to a new life but were supported by other families who were facing similar challenges. When Keith and Damaris return, they will receive the keys to their new home in Chester, Maryland, donated by Operation Homefront and Chase.
