Wounded Warrior Receives Home from Tim McGraw and Chase
Operation Homefront was honored once again, to join
Tim McGraw and
Chase to award a mortgage-free home to Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Jesse Bowser and his family. They received the home as part of our Homes on the Homefront program. In addition, the Bowsers were able to meet Tim McGraw and attend a concert near their new home.
Learn more about this deserving family: The son of a Sailor, Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Jesse Bowser was born in La Junta, CO and moved around quite a bit growing up. Knowing the benefits and rewarding experience that came with service to his country, he joined the Marine Corps in November of 1993 out of Texarkana, AR. He said that he wanted to stay as close to the Navy as possible without having to be on a ship like his father, but during his time in the Marine Corps he ended up on six different ships. He was deployed twice during that time to the Persian Gulf.
Jesse left the Marine Corps in September of 2003, but in May of 2004 he decided to serve the country in a different branch by following in his father and grandfathers footsteps by joining the Navy. He did four years in the Navy, stationed out of Coronado and working with EOD Group One. During that time, he did everything from facilities maintenance to customs inspections. In December of 2008, he transitioned into the Army National Guard, where he was stationed in Albuquerque, NM and Ft. Stewart, GA.
While stationed at Ft. Stewart, Jesse deployed to Iraq. During that time, he suffered arm and back injuries that forced him to return home after serving seven months of his 12 month deployment. Jesse and his wife Pauline, who is in the Army Reserves, moved into
Homefront Village Bethesda in Gaithersburg, MD in April of 2011 as a way to assist their family during his transition from the military. In May of 2012 he was medically retired from active duty.
Since his departure from military service, he has continued to think of ways he could help people and serve, so his service turned to the church. He was ordained as a minister to continue to assist people in any way that he could.
His passion is helping other returning veterans by helping them with work around their house, like wheelchairs ramps for transitioning service members and other home accommodations to make for easier living. A former bull rider, he would like to one day take his ministry on the road and assist riders that miss out on attending church because of the Sunday short-go. Thanks to Chase and Operation Homefront’s Homes on the Homefront, Jesse and Pauline will have a place to call home that is close to family while Jesse rehabs his injuries and continues to assist others.
