Operation Homefront
chapters offer many holiday programs throughout the year. Each
chapter is unique however in the holiday programs they choose
to offer. Please check with your local chapter for more
information on their specific holiday programs. The suggested
programs for our chapters are:
Holiday
baskets: Something special for families during the Christmas
season. Our holiday baskets usually contain food, gift
certificates and/or toys for the children.
Adoptafamily: During
the Christmas holidays, this program puts families of the deployed
with families willing to help by providing a holiday dinner
and presents for the children.
Easter
baskets: Some of our chapters choose to offer Easter
baskets to the children of our deployed military. Chapters
with extensive programs may also offer the program to nondeployed
military families who prove financial need.
Back
to school supplies: Chapters may choose to participate
in a back to school program. Many chapters provide military
children a backpack filled with supplies such as: pens,
pencils, ruler, notebooks, crayons, scissors, glue sticks,
colored pencils, highlighters, markers, and file folders.
Holiday
programs are offered at the discretion of the local chapter. Please
check with your local Operation Homefront chapter to see
what programs they participate in.
