Military Family Comes For Toys, Goes Home With SUV
Sgt. Steven Watson and his wife Diane came to Ft. Hood for our Jolly Holly/Meals for Military. They, like many struggling military families, were there to get a complete Christmas meal and toys to give their kids. What they didn't know is they had also been selected to take home a 2005 Volvo SUV, donated by American Shipping & Logistics Group. Unable to fit their whole family of five, two of whom have special needs, in their small unreliable car, they can now travel together as a family.Pictured with them are Jennifer Cernoch, President of Operation Homefront's Texas Chapter and Amy Palmer, Chief Operating Officer for Operation Homefront. Volunteers from Operation Homefront, Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Walmart, Dollar Tree Inc., T.G.I. Friday's, and Boston's The Gourmet Pizza all came together to make Jolly Holly/Meals for Military a successful event.
