Beam Global Spirits & Wine Donates More Than 1,000 Meals To Military Families
Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc., the leading American spirits company, made donations of 1,000 meals to military families this season through its “Holiday Meals for Military Families” charity program.
In partnership with Operation Homefront and nearly 30 valued business partners, Beam Global has increased its meal donations from 500 last year to more than 1,000 in three large military communities including Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Naval Station Great Lakes near Chicago. The program, which provides pre-packaged meals (shown in the photo), is designed to ease the burden that service members and their families often experience during the holidays.
Event Highlights
• On Dec. 15, Beam Global’s vice president of on-premise national accounts, Ken Ruff, and volunteers hand delivered 450 meals to troops stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. Each family received two reusable grocery bags with food items for a complete holiday meal, as well as a $20 gift certificate to Walmart to purchase a turkey and pie. In addition, country artist Ashley Ray was on hand to entertain the crowd.
• On Dec. 16, more than 550 troops stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, received meals delivered by Beam Global’s Jerry Summers, director of community relations. Originally anticipating supplies for 400 families, it was quickly evident that more families were hoping to take part in the meal donation. Working with Operation Homefront, Walmart quickly organized another 150 packaged meals to ensure all families walked away happy.
• On Dec. 17 at the Naval Station Great Lakes, Beam Global’s Mindy Mackenzie, senior vice president of human resources, and Kent Rose, senior vice president of general counsel and CAO, delivered 150 meals to troops based at the United States Navy's Headquarters Command near Chicago.
Since 2008, Beam Global has partnered with Operation Homefront on several successful initiatives, donating nearly $2.5M for the cause.
