Wells Fargo and Operation Homefront Hand Over Keys To Free Home in Kansas

U.S. Army Corporal John Eichenberger and his wife Kristin got the keys to their mortgage-free home today, thanks to Wells Fargo and Operation Homefront. They received the home as part of our Homes on the Homefront program. Along with representatives from Wells Fargo, our field office staff at Operation Homefront Kansas/Missouri were pleased to join the event.

Read more about Army Corporal John Eichenberger:
Army Corporal John Eichenberger grew up in the Kansas City area. After working in the restaurant industry for a brief time, he wanted to do something different with his life and serve his country, so in 2007 he enlisted in the Army.

While in the Army, John was stationed at Ft. Drum, N.Y., and was deployed to Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, John performed regular patrols, securing areas. During a two-day mission, walking through a region in Afghanistan, John suffered injuries that eventually led to an amputation.

John and his wife Kristen currently live in Peoria, Ariz. with their two sons. They have family and friends in the Overland Park, Kan. area, and they would like to move back to the area. This is why Operation Homefront and Wells Fargo have selected John to receive a mortgage-free home in Overland Park.

Their new home puts the family just five minutes from where John grew up. It will provide financial stability for the family, and allow them a place to settle down as the family hopes to grow in the future.
