Operation Homefront Partners With Got Your 6

Operation Homefront has joined the “Got Your 6” campaign as a strategic partner. The campaign, which involves many celebrities and a strong entertainment industry following, seeks to integrate vets into civilian life as civic assets and leaders. Celebrities involved include Tom Hanks, Bradley Cooper, Michael Douglas, Alec Baldwin, Brian Williams, Sarah Jessica Parker and many more.

With the military drawing down deployments to Afghanistan, an estimated one million U.S. military service members will be returning home and re-entering civilian life over the next three to five years. These heroes can be leaders in their home communities, and the “Got Your 6” campaign is a coalition of government, business, entertainment, and non-profit communities working together to raise awareness of the value these veterans can bring to the civilian world. The name of the “Got Your 6” campaign comes from military terminology meaning, “I’ve got your back, and you’ve got mine.”

Launched in May, this campaign will focus on the “Six Pillars of Reintegration:” Jobs, Education, Health, Housing, Family, and Leadership. Non-profit organization ServiceNation will head the campaign. Goals and progress will be tracked for each of the six pillars by expert Lead Activation Partners, and a Steering Committee comprised of representatives from participating partners will make sure that resources are allocated accordingly.

"One of our benefits has always been our forward presence in communities around the country, where we serve our military families face-to-face," said Jim Knotts, President and CEO of Operation Homefront. "This partnership with ServiceNation will allow us to further pursue our mission through the much needed ‘Got Your 6’ campaign.”

“We are honored to be able to partner with such a great organization,” said Chris Cashman of ServiceNation. “This will ensure that ‘Got Your 6’ reaches as many of our service members as possible in the communities across our nation.”
