Angie Johnson of The Voice Joins Operation Homefront In Honoring Military Kids

From Afghanistan to the big stage, we are honored that Angie Johnson of The Voice will be joining us at the 2012 Military Child of the Year Awards Gala in Washington D.C.  She will honor us by singing the national anthem at our annual event to recognize outstanding military kids from around the country.

In August 2011, while Angie was deployed on her 7th tour performing for the troops in the Middle East, an audience member from one of her small acoustic shows posted a YouTube video that changed her life. The video of Angie singing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” rocketed to one million views in just ten days, gained Angie national attention and support from millions of stateside patriots and even caught the attention of Carson Daly on Twitter who personally arranged an audition for Angie for The Voice. Her success did not slow upon her return home, with national TV appearances on Ellen, Entertainment Tonight, Fox News and a nomination for an MTV Online Music Award.

During Angie’s blind audition on The Voice, she was chosen by Cee Lo Green to be one of only 12 vocalists on his team. Now, Angie is a contestant on season two of The Voice, her YouTube video has over 2.3 million views and her musical career shows no signs of slowing.

Tune in to NBC on Monday nights at 8/7 pm Central to follow Angie’s new and exciting journey on season two of The Voice. For more information, visit www.OfficialAngieJohnson.com.
