Wounded Warrior Surprised With A Car

Wounded Warrior Surprised With A Car

Retired Army Specialist and wounded warrior Max Poyer and his wife Beverly thought they were coming to our DC chapter headquarters get toys for their kids but they were surprised with the gift of a new SUV. The vehicle, a gently used GMC Acadia, donated by American Shipping & Logistics, was given to them to help make their life easier.

"There are no words.  It's unbelievable.  It's something that we've really been needing," said Beverly.

Max was medically discharged from the Army after a year in Afghanistan. He has a brain injury and severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

In addition to that, the generous couple agreed to help out a family member by taking care of their five children.

"Now I can go to my doctor appointments without worrying about my wife and kids at home without a vehicle," said Max Poyer.  "It just makes life a little easier.  I'm so grateful."
