PURPOSE:
The purpose of the furniture
program is to coordinate donations of quality used furniture, baby
items and appliances to military families in need. Every attempt to
move items directly from the donor to client should be made, as storage
facilities cannot typically handle large quantities of big furniture
items.
|
Items
we can accept for donation:
Washer/Dryer sets
Refrigerators
if we have an immediate need
Dining room furniture
Bedroom Furniture
Baby Items
Living Room Furniture
Children's clothing
Small Appliances
Miscellaneous Home Décor Items
|
Items
we cannot accept:
Stoves
Any type of "built in" appliances
Any particularly large items which the furniture coordinator deems unacceptable.
Items in need of repair
Adult clothing

QUALIFICATION: The service member does not
have to be deployed. PROCEDURE: Arrangements should be made
by the service member with friends, neighbors or family to pickup whenever
possible. Operation Homefront will make
every attempt to have a volunteer pickup and/or deliver the item(s)
if the service member is deployed. There is no guarantee that
a request for an item will be filled, although Operation Homefront
will make every attempt to acquire the item requested within reason. Baby
items are in very high demand and not always available. If more than one person is
in need of an item, the item will go to the person determined by
the coordinator to be in the most need. If arrangements are made for
pickup of an item and the client does not show up, the item will go
to the next person in need, unless a credible reason for not showing
up is brought to our attention.
