FOOD
ASSISTANCE:
The purpose of the food assistance program is to assist families during difficult
times with gift certificates/gift cards to enable them to purchase items they
need. Operation Homefront Chapters may choose to keep a steady supply of donated
non-perishable food, diapers and formula to assist families or use gift certificates
and/or gift cards depending on the type of system implemented.
Donors can donate grocery gift certificates to Operation Homefront chapters directly
by visiting the local chapter website or you may donate certificates to the national
office. Certificates donated to the national office are used to distribute to
chapters as their supplies are depleted or to issue to clients in areas where
no operating chapter exists.
Many of our chapters also offer holiday food programs in which
they provide either gift cards or nonperishable food items for the following
holiday meals: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Please contact your local chapter to see if they will be participating in the
holiday meal program.
Donors may also donate commissary gift certificates to Operation Homefront chapters
by clicking here.
QUALIFICATION:
Service member does not need to be deployed.
E-6 and below families are eligible for this service. Exceptions can be made
at the discretion of the granting committee.
