Thank you Outback Steakhouse Pro Am
On Tuesday, October 26th, the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am announced that
Tampa Bay’s premier Champions Tour event raised $136,500 to benefit
Operation Homefront-Florida. The check presentation took place at The
Westin Tampa Bay. This final check presentation brings the proceeds to a
grand total of $338,300 raised for the 2010 benefiting charities.
“The
daily sacrifice of our military and their families is not overlooked by
the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am,” said Amy Hawk, tournament director of
the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am. “We are pleased that we can give back to
Operation Homefront-Florida so that they can continue to lend a hand to
military families and our veterans. The amazing support of our Champions
Tour professionals, sponsors, volunteers and fans is what allows this
tournament to continue to give more money to the Tampa Bay community,”
concluded Hawk.
"2010 saw Florida’s highest level of deployment
since WWII and our year-to-date requests for assistance have increased
over 100%,” said Simone Hoover, Operation Homefront-Florida Chapter
President. “The funds donated by the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am will be
used to assure those who stand in harms way that Operation
Homefront-Florida is here should an emergency arise at home. While the
mission of our military around the world changes over time, their needs
remain,” concludes Hoover.
Thank you to everyone at the Outback Steakhouse Pro Am team for this much needed support!
