PURPOSE:
The
purpose of the financial assistance program is to provide
monetary assistance with issues that may have devastating
effects on the family budget. Approval of financial assistance
cases is at the discretion of the Granting Committee based
on
knowledge, experience and client necessity. Payments are
made by Operation Homefront directly to the creditor.
- Guidelines
on types of financial assistance we may be able
to provide include the following:
Rent
(Civilian housing only)
Utility
bills
Airfare
to transport a family member
to assist a military wife during
illness or after childbirth
Childcare
during illness or surgery
Phone
bills due to urgent overseas
calls
Funeral
and/or cremation expenses for
military children not covered
by SGLI.
Car
payments when it is the family's
only means of transportation
Car
insurance and registration
payments

do not offer financial assistance with the following:
Airfare
for vacations or to meet deployed service members in
foreign ports
Plastic
surgery or other non-emergency
procedures
Immigration
Assistance
Legal
fees or bills
Credit
card payments

QUALIFICATIONS:
Service
member must be deployed.
Exceptions
may be made by the granting committee on a case by case basis.
