Since Operation
Homefront first opened a chapter in the DC Metro area (DC, MD & VA) in
2007, the demand for assistance by the military families of our deployed and
wounded troops has risen each year exponentially. The last few months (at the
start of Holiday season in 2012) the financial needs of our deployed and
wounded service members and their families, was even greater than past years
and we don't see it dropping as we head into 2013.
In response,
Operation Homefront DC Metro is seeking to raise $100,000 to build up our
Emergency Financial Assistance Fund. With your donation
you will be helping our local Military Families through the upcoming seasons of
2013 starting with this winter!
Needs range from calls for financial
assistance for food, car repair, rent payments, escalating bills, heating
costs, etc. Please help by donating now! Every dollar donated
to the Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter will go to help Military Families
in our service area (DC/MD/VA) with needs that are NOW - As well as those we
will see in the coming months.
Monetary donations
are needed to help support our Service Members and their families. Service
Members recently returning from Afghanistan and other deployment areas are met
with economic hardships and sometimes can't pay things like the car or
insurance payments.
They can face issues with timing upon returning
home to work, and some are unable to work because of being wounded. And even
some return to find out that the company that promised to hold their position
has gone out of business so there is no job to return to.
Our Emergency
Financial Assistance Fund allows them to live with the dignity and respect
that they deserve so that they are able to pay bills and have funds to feed
themselves and their families.
