Meet Bill McFadden
Chairman of the DC Metro Board
Five years ago, Bill McFadden responded to an advertisement soliciting donations and volunteers for a fledgling military non-profit. He'd been searching for a way to get involved to support our troops and with Operation Homefront (OH) he found a perfect match.
"What attracted me most was the fact that OH provides immediate, emergency financial assistance to families of deployed military," according to Bill. "Most families have no where else to go in an emergency since most are living on or near bases miles and miles from their friends and family".
Founding Chair, Gene Carter, told Bill, "you're the first volunteer"! Within a year, Bill held several Board offices and served as President. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board.
Under Bill's leadership, OH DC Metro Chapter has been recognized nationally as one of the top chapters and has been successful in the distribution of over $2 million in emergency assistance. A pretty good "day's" work for the Chapter's first volunteer!
