Bring a smile to a Military Family with Adopt A Military Family Holiday Program
ADOPT A FAMILY HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Many families struggle through the holiday season and military families are no different. Members of the Armed Forces, serving in an active duty capacity, some deployed or wounded, may experience an unforeseen financial emergency or an issue with pay that can make it hard for a family to provide for their children during the holiday season.
Every year, Operation Homefront receives numerous calls from our community asking to sponsor a military family for the holidays. These sponsors want to help bring joy to the face of a child while telling this military family “thank you” for serving our country. These incoming calls offset the many requests we receive from local military families seeking support to make it through the holidays. Operation Homefront Adopt A Family program connects the sponsors to the military families resulting in a very Happy Holiday.
Beginning October 15th, Operation Homefront DC Metro will begin to accept Family and Sponsor applications. We will accept the applications through December 18th. The Adopt A Family program is run on a first come first serve basis. Sponsors and families will be connected on the basis of size and location. Operation Homefront DC Metro cannot guarantee we will be able to adopt every family. Adoption will depend upon the number of sponsors that contact Operation Homefront DC Metro.
