Suicide Surges Among Active Duty Military - We are Here to Help

According to statistics released by the Pentagon last week, the suicide rate among active duty soldiers has increased for the third year in a row and is outpacing the number of combat deaths by nearly 50%. For the first half of this year, one active duty soldier each day has committed suicide. More soldiers have died due to suicide than have been killed in combat.

We're here to help. Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter can help ease the burden of a financial crisis allowing active duty military to deal with the stress of multiple deployments and combat exposure.

Suicide Prevention

Experts say combat exposure, PTSD, misuse of prescription medication and personal financial problems are key contributors to suicide among active duty servicemembers.
