The intense storms last June/July left thousands in the DC Metro area without power during an oppressive heat wave. Power for many was not restored for days and in some cases over a week. We stood ready and assisted Military Families affected by these devastating storms. OH DC Metro Chapter provided grocery gift cards and commissary food vouchers to many active duty military family, E6 and below to replace food lost due to power outages and high heat. You helped us feed our heroes. OH DC Metro Chapter has experienced an uptick in requests for food assistance as a result of these storms on top of requests that we normally fill this time of the year. The affects have taken their toll on our supplies. We were able to support active duty Military Families with food assistance due to the generous support from the community. Because of the great need our daily supplies, for when other emergencys arise, has been reduced greatly. Any donation amount will help to restock our supply for the coming needs, Keep in mind for every $100 raised it will replace a week's worth a groceries for a family of four.
