With the rising fuel costs Military Families are faced with the need to "Filler Up" for more reasons then just getting to work • Military Families sometimes have to travel long distances to be with their loved ones when they can • Wounded soldiers are often treated in facilities far from where their homes and families are • An unexpected trip to the doctor for a military child • all these situations and more can eat into the gas budget of the families of our deployed and wounded warriors. These are only a few of the reasons why our Military Families of our deployed and wounded warriors suddenly see the gas gage reading as empty and their wallet. As gas prices keep rising and falling it is very hard for Military Families to budget when unexpected emergencies arise or gas prices soar. Please consider donating Gas cards • Visa, American Express or MasterCard gift cards. Sample of Gas Stations that provide gift cards are not limited to this list; BP • Shell • Sheetz • Sam's Club • Costco. Click on "Contact Us" for a mailing address or phone number. You can also email us at dc@operationhomefront.net. ***** Monetary donations made by clicking the Donate Here Button will be used to purchase additional Cards from merchants like the ones listed above to restock our supply that has been depleted.

You’ve probably noticed that its costing you more to fill up your grocery cart these days. What we’ve noticed here at the Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter is more families need help to feed their families and stock their cupboards. Our Chapter is experiencing a surge in requests for food assistance. When the unexpected happens, the car breaks down or the electric bill is bigger than normal families make sacrifices in their food budget. Our Chapter steps in with emergency grocery gift cards, delivered overnight so military families get help quickly and easily. Help us restock our supply of grocery gift cards with a donation today. For an average family of four, the Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter sends about $100 in gift card(s) to buy a week’s worth of groceries. We’ll happily accept your online donations (click on Donate Now) or gift cards may be sent to us via USPS (see Contact us for the mailing address). Collecting gift cards at the office, through a fraternal or service organization or as a youth group project helps families all year long.

Help the Operation Homefront DC Metro Chapter build the 2012 Emergency Financial Assistance Fund. *** Since Operation Homefront first opened a chapter in the DC Metro area (DC, MD & VA) in 2006, the demand for assistance by the military families of our deployed and wounded troops has risen each year exponentially. After the holidays, in 2011, the financial needs of our deployed and wounded service members and their families are expected to be even greater for 2012. In response, Operation Homefront DC Metro is seeking to raise $100,000 for the coming months of 2012. Needs range from calls for financial assistance for food, car repair, rent payments, escalating bills, heating costs, etc. Please help by donating now! Every dollar donation to the 2012 Emergency Financial Assistance Fund will go to help Military Families in our service area (DC/MD/VA) with needs that are NOW! As well as those we will see in the coming months. **** Monetary donations are needed to help support our Service Members and their families. Service Members recently returning from Afghanistan and other deployment areas are met with economic hardships and sometimes can't pay things like the car or insurance payments. They can face issues with timing upon returning home to work, and some are unable to work because of being wounded. And even some return to find out that the company that promised to hold their position has gone out of business so there is no job to return to. Our 2012 Emergency Financial Assistance Fund allow them to live with the dignity and respect that they deserve so that they are able to pay bills and have funds to feed themselves and their families. **** Monetary donations can be made by clicking the Donate Here Button or if you prefer to make a donation by check click on "Contact Us" for a mailing address. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions. dc@operationhomefront.net
