Vehicle Needed for Sailor and his family

Auto Donation Needed
Have a vehicle to donate to a good cause? Please consider donating your vehicle to Operation Homefront to support this sailor and other families in need. This sailor currently resides in California. He has only been in the military one year and has a wife and four month old child. This sailor is trying to support his family on a $36,000 income in one of the most expensive areas of California. Unfortunately he has not had the funds to afford a vehicle. They have been riding the bus or calling on friends or co-workers to assist them in getting to medical appointments, grocery store, and work. If you have a working vehicle in good mechanical condition and would like to donate it to Operation Homefront, please contact us.

Operation Homefront is assisting the family of a deployed soldier whose basement was recently flooded with sewage from the city's sewage line. The family had recently purchased the home prior to the service member's deployment. The city has indicated the prior owner's were aware of this issue and had been told how they could prevent such a back up when the city's system backed up but they did not take those steps nor disclosed this to the family during the sale. The city is covering part of the expense for the repair, but the family is left with the remaining balance. The spouse is currently pregnant and they have two other children as well. They are currently staying in a hotel until they can come up with the funds to have this sewage removed.

Total cost of this need is $4,434
Amount still needed $2,429
$2,005
Navy Sailor deployed on the USS Bush had the basement of his home flood while deployed at sea. The seal around the basement was leaking and ground water from rain was seeping into the basement. To avoid mold growth, they had to clean the water from the basement, remove base boards and flooring, install a sump pump and a water tracking system below the basement floor. The family used all of their savings and took out a line of credit to complete the necessary clean up work. While the basement is no longer leaking, the basement is unlivable currently. With four children in the home, they need the two bedrooms and bathroom in the basement to be habitable. Drywall needs to be replaced, flooring put in, and bathroom appliances reinstalled to at least allow the children to return to those rooms. Please help us help this Sailor who has served our country so proudly!
