Laptops
and Communications
Operation Homefront helps troops and wounded warriors communicate with
their families through high-quality laptop computers (Pentium IV and
above) and related communications equipment. Operation Homefront
accepts large donations of new and used laptop computers, works with
donors to refurbish them, and then distributes them to clients in need.
For our wounded warriors, Operation Homefront equips the laptops with
specialized software such as voice activation which helps accommodate
their disabilities and move on with their lives. With so many wounded
recuperating in medical facilities, these laptops are critical to communicating
with family members, filling out disability paperwork, applying for civilian
jobs, and even paying household bills.
Computers and communications are equally important for troops and military
families – and with so many deployments lasting 12 months or longer,
we consider them essential items for helping families stay together.
The key qualification for receiving a laptop is the service member must
be deploying or wounded. Operation Homefront does not offer
computer assistance in the following areas:
Purchase of new PC’s or Laptop Computers
Computer Upgrades
Purchase of ISP service
Additional computers for other family members
Please contact your local Operation Homefront chapter if you would
like to donate a computer. Most chapters only accept Pentium IV ’s and
above. All other older computers can be sent to our recycling company who will
sell the computers and computer components and issue the funds back to Operation
Homefront. To donate your computer to the recycling company, please click
