Auto Repair and Donation
AUTO REPAIR:
The purpose of the car repair service is to assist families of deployed
service members with car repair issues when their only mode of transportation
has broken down. Assistance may be in the form of pro-bono donated services,
discounted services, referral or Operation Homefront financial grants to
pay for repairs for the following:
Towing services
Diagnostic services
General repair services
Operation Homefront does not offer automobile assistance in the following
areas:
Regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotation, tune-ups)
Vehicle purchases
Repair of modified or vintage vehicles

QUALIFICATION:
Service member MUST be deployed.
Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Granting Committee
INFORMATION REQUIRED:
Signed Application
Military Service Verification (valid dependent ID Card)
Valid Driver’s License
Valid Insurance
Valid Vehicle Registration
Proof of deployment
AUTO DONATION:
The purpose of the car donation program is to assist families without
vehicles by accepting a decent used vehicle donation through Operation
Homefront and in turn donating the vehicle to a family without transportation.
QUALIFICATION: The service member does not have to be deployed. Second
vehicle donations are at the discretion of the Granting Committee depending
on the family circumstances.
INFORMATION REQUIRED:
Signed Application on File
Military Service Verification (valid dependent military ID or active
military ID for those not deployed)
Number of vehicles currently owned – make/model/condition of other
vehicle (if applicable)
copy of Valid Driver’s License
Family must have adequate financial resources available to pay insurance & DMV
transfers
PROCEDURE: Acceptance of the vehicle will be determined by the chapter
president. Vehicles that we deem unacceptable due to repair condition,
size of vehicle or other reason may be referred to Cars4Causes if this
is agreeable to the donor.
ACCEPTABLE VEHICLES: If the vehicle is immediately suitable for donation to
a military family, the Form 1098-C will be completed and given to the donor.

RECEIPTS: If the vehicle is not immediately transferred to a family, the tax
payer will not receive a 1098-C until the disposition of the vehicle is determined.
