Cresa Raises Funds for Operation Homefront
9/11/2012
Over $24,000 was donated in support of Operation HomefrontWashington, DC – Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit providing emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and Wounded Warriors, was pleased to receive a generous donation this week from Cresa, North America’s largest commercial real estate tenant representation firm.
As part of their annual spring conference this past April, Cresa continued their commitment to community giving and raised over $86,000 for three deserving national charities, including Operation Homefront, which received a total of $24,500 for Wounded Warriors and military families in the DC Metro area.
Qualified families are able to receive assistance in a variety of ways including basic necessities through food assistance, home repair, and financial assistance while someone is deployed or transitioning to civilian life back home. The DC area Operation Homefront Village also provides short-term transitional housing allowing service members who have been disabled from injuries a place to live rent free with their families while they receive medical treatment. Additionally, Operation Homefront helps these families get back on their feet while staying in the Village through support groups, counseling, workshops, and resume writing classes.
“These service members and their families are heroes for what they have sacrificed for our country,” said Jim Knotts, President and CEO of Operation Homefront. “We are truly grateful for the support we have received from organizations like Cresa. Their very generous donation will go towards improving the lives of these men and women as they fight to recover, support their families, and become leaders in their communities back home.”
“Supporting Operation Homefront with our annual fundraising efforts was an obvious choice for Cresa,” said Gene Sachs, Managing Partner, Cresa Washington, DC. “We are honored to have the opportunity to support those members of DC’s greater metro community that are committed to defending our great nation.”
