Operation Homefront Donates Car to Deserving Military Family

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, MD – Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit that provides emergency financial and other assistance to military families and wounded warriors, continues their support for our troops through a recent car donation.  Senior Airman Aaron Becker has served his country proudly, and this car will greatly benefit his family who are expecting their first child in June.

After growing up in Idaho, Aaron joined the Air Force in 2009 where he trained at Lackland AFB as a member of the Honor Guard.  He then went on to complete his Air Force Technical Training for a career as a Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician at Sheppard AFB.  After graduating in 2010, he has continued his work in the Malcolm Grow Medical Clinic at Andrews AFB in Maryland.  Spending most of his time repairing medical equipment which is vital to our wounded warriors, he also goes above and beyond by serving as a Sergent at Arms in the Hospital Booster Club.

Aaron’s family will be receiving a 2009 Ford Explorer because of his hard work and dedication.  “My wife, Mercy, and I are expecting our first child in June.  Unfortunately, I have not had the funds to afford a vehicle.  We have been riding the bus or calling on friends or co-workers to assist us in getting to medical appointments, grocery store, and work. This vehicle will really help my family.  We won’t have to depend on others so much,” said Becker. 

The Explorer was donated to Operation Homefront by the ASL Group, a leading broad-based shipping and logistics contractor for the US Government.  “We are pleased to have the opportunity to support the great work done by Operation Homefront through donations of company vehicles to deserving service members- it is just one small but meaningful way to say thank you for their dedicated service and sacrifice,” said Raymond P. Ebeling, Chairman and CEO of ASL Group.

Operation Homefront President and CEO, Jim Knotts, was pleased to announce this award for the family.  “This car will be a great gift to help the Becker family get on the road to a better life.  We are grateful to service members like Aaron, and very thankful to companies such as the ASL Group who continue to donate and support our troops.”
