AnniesBid.com Launches “Hearts on the Homefront” Campaign to Help Wounded Warriors in Partnership with Operation Homefront
1/18/2012
SEATTLE, WA - After its success in raising over
$11,000 for Operation Smile to change the lives of 47 cleft lip and
palate sufferers around the world, AnniesBid.com is calling on the
public’s support for a new mission. The goal is to raise $10,000 for
Operation Homefront, a leading national military assistance charity that
aids the families of service members and Wounded Warriors, through
AnniesBid.com’s “Hearts on the Homefront” campaign.
Anyone can help raise money for this effort at virtually no cost through AnniesBid.com’s social fundraising app at http://www.facebook.com/AnniesBid
Simply sign up for the app, choose the Operation Homefront chapter you
wish to support, and send “hearts” to friends. AnniesBid.com makes a
donation to Operation Homefront for each heart sent and accepted. This
directly benefits military personnel and their families, both during and
after active duty by providing financial assistance for everything from
grocery purchases and emergency repairs to Wounded Warrior transition
housing.
The campaign has a dimension of fun competition as well. Participants
compete for weekly drawings and those states whose residents generate
the most hearts will garner additional benefits for their state’s
Operation Homefront chapter.
Similar to its success with Operation Smile, AnniesBid.com fundraising
app has the potential to raise thousands of dollars for wounded
warriors, but AnniesBid.com cannot do this alone. We call upon all
those that know a veteran or their family to show their support by
sending as many hearts as possible – a small sacrifice for those who
have given so much more to our country.
“We are proud to partner with an organization that works to support
important causes and recognizes the sacrifices of our service members,”
said Jim Knotts, President and CEO of Operation Homefront. “Using the
unique platform of AnniesBid.com, people around the country can help
support service members and their families in their local area, while
having the ability to get friends and family involved in this great
opportunity.”
