About Back-To-School Brigade
Thanks to you, the 2012 Back-to-School Brigade™ was an amazing success! This year completely surpassed expectations, and through the generosity of individual and corporate contributors, Operation Homefront was able to collect almost 5 million school supplies and filled almost 40,000 backpacks with these school supplies, saving military families across the nation thousands of dollars in expenses many cannot otherwise afford. Nationwide, there are 1.2 million children of active duty service members. Nearly 60% of the children are school-aged. Back-to-School Brigade™ is an important morale programs and expression of our pride and appreciation of our service members. Backpack and school supply distributions express America’s gratitude and help our active duty military families offset back to school expenses.
Back-to-School Brigade™ 2013 registration for Pick-Up Volunteers begins in May. Back-to-School Brigade™ Collection Drives typically run mid-July through the first week of August.
